The Adventures
When we were kids, we went on adventures all the time.
We built treehouses in the woods, went to Summer Camps full of awesome activities and ran away from home to live in a tent (usually just at the bottom of the garden, but it certainly felt like a giant adventure).
We were constantly learning, discovering new things, meeting new people and having a lot of fun.
The Festivals
As we got older, our love of adventure grew up with us. We spent our summers at festivals and our winters dreaming up ways to bring that same sense of wonder into everyday life.
We started club nights, ran festivals, and eventually created Camp Wildfire, the UK’s first Summer Camp for adults.
The Little Ones
When our Camp Wildfire community started having kids, we kept hearing the same thing: "I wish there was something like this for our family".
We felt it too. That pull to share the magic of Camp, the woodland, the activities, the late-night stories around the fire, with the next generation.
The Idea
What if we could create a weekend where families could adventure together? Where kids could climb, craft and explore, and parents could rediscover their own sense of play?
A proper Summer Camp, the kind we’d dreamed of as children, but with the whole family invited.
The Pinetum
We found our home in an extraordinary pinetum: a private woodland planted over a century ago by Edwardian explorers who brought back rare saplings from expeditions around the world. Towering Redwoods, Japanese White Pines and ancient giants now form the backdrop for every adventure.
The First Camp Kindling
Camp Kindling welcomed its first families in summer 2021, and the sparks have been flying ever since.
Our mission is simple: to kindle curiosity, creativity and connection for families, and to give kids the kind of adventurous childhood memories that last a lifetime.
