Patrols

One of the best parts of Camp Kindling? The Patrol system! It's a brilliant way for your family to meet other campers, get stuck into some friendly competition, and chase the glory of the Kindling Cup. Joining a Patrol is totally optional, but it's one of the most popular parts of the weekend -- and once you're in, you'll see why.

How it Works

1. Join a Patrol

When your family arrives at Camp Kindling, you can join one of four Patrols:

  • Badgers

  • Hawks

  • Squirrels

  • Foxes

Think of your Patrol as your extended Camp Kindling family -- a ready-made crew to share the weekend with and cheer alongside.

2. Collect Points

Throughout the weekend, your family can earn points for your Patrol by taking part in activities, challenges, and even acts of kindness. Activity leaders hand out Patrol points for skill, effort, and enthusiasm -- though a bit of cheeky bribery has been known to work too!

3. Play Patrol Games

Head to the Patrol Games Arena at 17:30 each day for some hilariously fun team games. You can play, or simply grab a cold drink and watch the action. Some games you might see include:

  • Movie charades

  • Tag Pull

  • Limbo

  • Compliment Challenge

  • Pegface Challenge

  • Bushtucket Trials

  • Tug of War

Patrol Games Finale

The big moment comes on Sunday at 17:30 with the Patrol Games Finale. Points are tallied, the winning Patrol is crowned, and the Kindling Cup is awarded. Grab a drink, cheer on your team, and enjoy the thrill of the epic final race!
