Hackney Colliery Band

Hackney Colliery Band are an East London collective with a genre-bending mix of brass, reeds, percussion and electronics. Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 2011, they've blown their way into the public consciousness and made a name as one of the most exciting live bands in the UK.

The Times described them as "Reinventing the brass band format for the 21st century", while BBC Radio 2 called them "One of the greatest live bands that we have in this country".

Picture a big band of brass, reeds and drums, with electronics in the mix, all turned up and having a brilliant time. It's loud, joyful and impossible to stand still to, which makes it a treat for little ones and grown-ups alike.
