The Massiveness of Space!

The Massiveness of Space! is a family science talk with Space Science man Paul. It's a journey through the most mind-boggling numbers in the universe, where the distances are so enormous they'll make your brain do a little somersault, and your sense of scale will never be quite the same.

Space is big. Really, really, really big. But just how big? How far away are the stars? Is the moon closer than you think, or further? And how many London buses could you fit inside the Sun, and why on earth would anyone want to know?

Paul takes those questions and turns them into a fun, curious adventure for the whole family. Children get to wrap their heads around giant numbers, and grown-ups might just find their own sense of scale completely, wonderfully, spectacularly shattered. Expect lots of wide eyes and plenty of questions on the walk back to your tent.
