Participant Agreement
You are really important to us; we want you to have an incredible time at our events! Your experience will be affected by the conduct of those around you and in turn your conduct will affect theirs.
For this reason we ask everyone to agree to the following, along with our Terms & Conditions, in order to attend.
We recognise this might be more than you are usually asked to commit to before an event, and it is perfectly ok if you don't already know these concepts, so if you need help just let us know and we will be very happy to support you.
Attendees that are found to be violating the minimum expectations may be asked to leave.
We encourage you to go above and beyond and have added some ideas to help. A small action by you has the ability to make someone else’s weekend; that’s a special thing and well worth the effort!
Inclusivity
We want everyone to feel welcomed at our events for exactly who they are, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical and mental health, appearance, body shape and size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), place or origin and residence, family setup, political choices, and education, skill or ability level.
You are expected to:
- Not use offensive, derogatory or insulting language
- Not deliberately intimidate, embarrass or shame others
- Not make jokes about other people
- Be tolerant of other people's personalities, ideas, knowledge, abilities and choices
We encourage you to:
- Invite others into any small friendship groups you have created
- Be supportive, patient and encouraging other others people's participation and learning
- Use nonsexist language such as “hi team” instead of “hi guys”
- Use gender neutral terms such as “they/them” unless you know someones chosen gender identity, which may be they/them, she/her, he/him or otherwise
- Have open and supportive conversations about what is important to you and why so that others can learn, don’t assume they have, or should have, the knowledge you do
Sustainability
We are aiming to make our events Zero Emissions and Zero Landfill by 2025 and we need your help to achieve that. We have fantastic facilities onsite to ensure you have an affordable, wonderful, comfortable time.
You are expected to:
- Only bring things you really need with you and take them away with you
- Only bring food and drink that you are definitely going to eat and drink over the weekend
- Only bring food and drink in recyclable or compostable packaging
- Use the bins provided and not drop litter or cigarette buts
- Not harm or damage any flora or fauna
We encourage you to:
- Invest in a reusable water bottle, mug, cutlery set and drinking straw and bring them with you.
- Travel to the event by public transport or bicycle
- Use eco friendly soaps, shampoos, body washes, toothpaste, toothbrushes
- Only use organic and biodegradable materials in costumes and adornments
Consent
We want everyone to feel safe at our events in their relationships (sexual and non-sexual) with other people.
You are expected to:
- Communicate clearly and directly with others about your boundaries and expectations
- Obtain explicit consent before engaging in any physical contact with another person
- Respect others boundaries and give them as much space as they need to feel safe
We encourage you to:
- Take time to ensure you fully understand what is considered consent
- If you see anyone looking uncomfortable check they are ok or inform a member of our team
Personal Responsibility
We do everything we can to ensure that the event is safe for everyone but we cannot eliminate all risks. We expect you to take personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of those around you.
You are expected to:
- Comply with the safety rules of the event and instructions of event staff
- Inform our team of any situation that may be a danger to you or other people
- Only join activities that you are fit and healthy enough to participate in
- Know how to safely be in a rural environment for the duration of the event
- Bring and wear appropriate clothing and footwear
You are encouraged to:
- Take out your own personal accident insurance cover
- Seek medical advice from your doctor about your ability to participate
