Slime & Jungle Games

SLIME & JUNGLE GAMES
Squishy green slime, jungle sensory trays and a giant rainbow parachute. Little ones get gloriously messy while you enjoy a well-earned breather.
Slime & Jungle Games is a messy, jungle-themed play session for younger children. Little ones make and squish their own slime, explore sensory trays full of jungle treasures and join in with parachute games and giant garden games. It's run by an Activity Leader as a drop-off session, so children have a brilliant time while grown-ups get a little time to themselves.
Messy play is exactly what it sounds like: hands-on play with squishy, slimy, gloopy and grainy materials. Children poke, squeeze, pour and stretch to see what happens, with no right or wrong way to do it. It's all about curiosity, and many children find it wonderfully absorbing. The mess is part of the fun, which is why it's so much better when someone else is tidying up.
Most slime is made by mixing glue with an activator, which links the glue together into a stretchy, bouncy goo. A few drops of colouring turn it jungle green.
Another messy play classic is cornflour mixed with water. It feels hard when you squeeze it, then oozes through your fingers like a liquid when you let go. Children are often amazed by it, and so are plenty of grown-ups.
A tuff tray is a large, shallow tray that children can gather around. For a jungle theme it might be filled with toy animals, leaves, shredded paper, water or sand, ready for little explorers to dig, hide and discover.
Parachute games use a huge, colourful circle of fabric. Everyone holds the edge and lifts it high, makes waves, bounces soft balls on top or takes turns running underneath. Giant garden games are oversized versions of classics, like big building blocks, skittles and noughts and crosses, which little hands love to wrestle with.
Pop your child in clothes that can get messy, and pack everything they might need while you're away. Sunscreen, a spare change of clothes, a drink and a snack are all good ideas. Let the Activity Leader know about any allergies or anything else that will help your child feel settled.
DO PARENTS STAY FOR SLIME & JUNGLE GAMES?
It's designed as a drop-off session, so your child plays with the Activity Leader while you take a break.
IS SLIME SAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN?
Slime is for playing with, not eating. Do not let children put slime in their mouths or rub it in their eyes. Wash hands after messy play, and tell the Activity Leader about any allergies or sensitive skin.
WILL MY CHILD GET MESSY?
Almost certainly. Dress them in clothes you don't mind getting slime, sand or water on, and pack a spare set.
WHAT IS A TUFF TRAY?
A tuff tray is a large, shallow tray used for sensory play. It's filled with materials like sand, water, leaves or toys for children to explore with their hands.
